‘In terms of breaking barriers, the Blackheath project achieves what many would like to, but rarely can, by putting opera at the heart of the community’ Simon Thomas - What’s On Stage July 2014

Blackheath Halls Opera gives the local community an opportunity to take part and see inside a fully staged opera. 120 members of the local community join primary school children, students from special schools , Trinity Laban students and a host of professionals in a programme that truly brings together all areas of the community.

One of our participants has described the programme as 'A life-affirming and life-changing experience. Everyone should take part!'

With your help we can continue to development our operatic programme and enable more of the community to take part in this incredible and enriching experience.

Watch our latest online performance of 'Tre sbirri, una carrozza' from Puccini's Tosca

Featuring Matthew Rose singing the role of Scarpia alongside members of the Blackheath Halls Chorus and Blackheath Halls Orchestra all singing and playing from their homes, we are hugely proud of this rousing celebrating of creative and community sprit during these difficult times for the arts industry and we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we all have putting it together!
