May 2018 sees the doors of Blackheath Halls close for the redevelopment of the Great Hall, bar and box office/foyer area of the venue.
The contractors have now moved in to begin what will be an exciting time in the history of our historic SE London venue and one which will help transform it into a space worthy of the talents it hosts.
Our contractors Sykes & Son are London’s oldest independent building contractor, having been established for over 250 years. They have an impressive history of working on some of the most iconic buildings in the city, many of them centres for the arts including The Royal College of Music, The Wallace Collection, The Royal Academy of Arts and The Cortauld Institute, meaning that the redevelopment project at Blackheath Halls, is in very capable hands.
Keep in touch
We will be posting regular updates on this page as the works progress as well as on social media so please keep checking to see what is happening.
Although the doors are closed the show must go on! We still have events running during the closure including the finale to the season, our Summer Opera, Dido & Aeneas, which will take place at The Albany in Deptford, SE8 4AG
