Join the Choir for Mozart’s Requiem – No Experience Necessary!
Please note that the soprano, alto and tenor sections in the choir are now full, however if you are a bass and would like to join the choir there are still a few spaces remaining and we advise you to call the box office on 020 8463 0100 to book. You can also call the box office to join the waiting list, and we will call you if a place becomes available.
We’re looking for up to 70 singers of all voice types to join us on this powerful community-centred performance of Mozart’s Requiem, with the Blackheath Halls Orchestra under the direction of Chris Stark, with soloists Ailish Tynan (soprano), Nick Pritchard (tenor) and James Platt (bass).
Whether you’re an experienced vocalist or new to choral singing, this is a unique opportunity to be part of an unforgettable performance, make new friends, and hone your vocal skills in a supportive, uplifting environment.
Rehearsal Schedule:
Mon 13, 20, 27 Jan; 3, 10, 17, 24 Feb; 3, 10, 17 Mar 7:30–9:30pm
Sun 23 Mar, 2:30–5:30pm
Performance: Sun 23 Mar, 7:30 pm (approx. one hour)
Special Session for Beginners
New to singing or music-reading? Join us for an optional pre-rehearsal on Monday, 13 January from 6:30–7:30 pm. We’ll cover tips on reading music, following your part, and finding your note with other singers or instruments—ideal for anyone wanting a confidence boost before diving in!
