Blackheath Halls is committed to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for its customers. We operate a family-friendly venue with step-free access, accessible toilets, and baby-changing facilities. This page explains the facilities at Blackheath Halls and is intended to assist you in planning your visit.

We encourage customers to book in advance which allows our staff to readily provide any assistance you require and to advise you of our facilities and building layout. It also enables us to reserve seating in appropriate areas of our auditoria according to specific access requirements.

You can do this by:

  • Calling the Box Office on 020 8463 0100 (opening hours Mon-Fri 10am-5pm)
  • Visiting us in person (opening hours Mon-Fri 10am-5pm)
  • Booking accessible seats online (this is only for customers with a Nimbus Disability Access card)

If you already have an Access Card, you need to link your link your Access Card to Blackheath Halls first before you can book tickets.

Level Access – Customers with Limited Mobility

All public areas of the building are accessible to customers with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. The Box Office and Bar are on the ground floor and have ramped access. There is a lift to The Hearn Recital Room and accessible toilets on both floors.


Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome at Blackheath Halls. If you wish to take an assistance dog into a performance please call 020 8463 0100 / email boxoffice@blackheathhalls.com so that we can arrange an adjacent space for it.

Printed materials are available in large print format upon request.


Hearing Impaired Customers

Our Great Hall is fitted with infrared radiators which pulse out the sound from relay mics and communicates with a compatible headset which we can provide for customers with hearing difficulties for amplified events. We recommend sitting towards the front of the raked seating bank for optimum effect.

Essential Companions

Customers who have a disability that means they need an essential companion may bring their companion for free. Please notify the Box Office of this when booking to reserve an additional space.


Toilets

There are accessible toilets on both floors which are suitable for wheelchair users. We do not currently have changing benches or hoists.


Disabled Parking

We encourage customers to travel to Blackheath Halls by public transport where possible. Blue Badge parking can generally be arranged in our car park at the back of the building off Blackheath Park, subject to availability.
