The Blackheath Halls Orchestra provides an opportunity for instrumental players across the community to enjoy performing in a number of high-quality music performances throughout the year.

Under the conducting baton of Christopher Stark, the co-founder of the Multi-Story Orchestra in Peckham, the orchestra now has over 60 members who rehearse a broad variety of music which they then perform in our Great Hall and other local venues. The orchestra are also involved in other projects including accompanying all of the Blackheath Halls Opera productions. All rehearsals take place at Blackheath Halls.

Our next project will be a performance of Holst’s ‘The Planets’ and Matthew Taylor’s ‘The Needles’ on 24th November 2024. Please see here for more information about which instruments we are still recruiting for and how to sign up to this project.

If you have a general enquiry about the orchestra or you are interested in playing with us please contact Rose Ballantyne R.Ballantyne@blackheathhalls.com

I love the community feeling of the orchestra and how loyal everyone is
