The Poozies ‘…paved the way for sparkly women folkies in a beardy man’s world’
The Poozies started life 35 years ago as an all-woman folk band and have been pioneers from the beginning.
Rooted in the glorious sound of founding member Mary Macmaster’s electro-harp and the wild energy of twin fiddles Eilidh Shaw and Sarah McFadyen, the band create music that is impossible to sit still to!
The line-up continues to evolve, with guitarist Michael Bryan and drummer Donald Hay bringing even more energy and invention to their sound.
In 2026, they continue to push the boundaries of their unique Trad-Punk sound, bringing together traditional Scottish folk sounds with bold, inventive new music.
Expect a riotous mix of energy, attitude, irresistible rhythms and plenty of surprises…with room for dancing!
