An evening performance of Aaron Copland’s Billy the Kid by the Blackheath Halls Orchestra, a thrilling ballet suite inspired by the life and legend of the infamous American outlaw.
One of Copland’s best-known works, Billy the Kid brings the spirit of the American West to life through bold orchestral writing, memorable melodies and the incorporation of traditional cowboy tunes and American folk songs.
The performance will be presented and conducted by the orchestra’s Director, Chris Stark, who will explore the story behind the music and share insights into what to listen out for.
