ABOUT THE RECITAL
Join Rosebud Ensemble at Blackheath Halls for MozART in London, a lunchtime recital celebrating the brilliance, charm and emotional depth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Bringing together pianist Jiacheng Zhu and a string quartet of young musicians, the concert explores the remarkable variety of Mozart’s chamber music, from sparkling early compositions to richly expressive musical conversations.
The programme begins with the lively Divertimento in D major, K.136, written when Mozart was just sixteen. In the Violin Sonata in B-flat major, K.454, violin and piano share the spotlight in a work of elegance and dramatic contrast. The Duo in G major, K.423 brings violin and viola into a playful and intimate dialogue, revealing the expressive possibilities of just two instruments. The recital concludes with Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K.525, one of Mozart’s best-loved works, whose memorable melodies and buoyant energy offer a fitting finale.
Whether you are a long-time admirer of Mozart or discovering his chamber music for the first time, this programme offers an inviting hour of music in the welcoming setting of Blackheath Halls.
