Sounds from West Africa returns for 2026 with another epic lineup, bringing together music and cultural history rooted in the soul of the region, with a focus on the sounds of Nigeria and Cameroon for this edition.

First up, Dela Sosimi leads Trinity Laban’s BAMPI Band and special guests in a set of music from Fela Kuti, the founding father of Afro-Beat and Trinity Laban alum.

After the break, Trinity Laban Jazz Ensemble perform music by Richard Bona, Danny Casimir and Brice Wassy, conducted by Calum Gourlay. Expect a host of guest artists onstage including  Danny Casimir, Chelsea Carmichael, Pat Davey, Sahra Gure, Tom Challenger and Matt Seddon.

And to round off the night, there will be late night jazz in the Bar at Blackheath Halls. Join us for a celebration of heritage and innovation, where West African rhythms collide with the creativity of the next generation of London-based talent.
